The zoo is only animals but the Safari and Marine Park has more variety; Aquarium, safari animals, photo opportunities with snakes and orangutans, some great shows with trained animals and a small.

Is it worth doing both? they look similar. We have done the safari park (i think) about 7 years ago but childless! We arr traveling with a 5 year old now.

5. Re: Bali zoo vs safari park. 6 years ago. Save. Been to both. Bali Zoo is a lot smaller and more manageable with a 5 year old. Both have a water play area. Both are fun but Bali Safari Park is almost too big to see it all in 1 day, especially in the heat and with a 5year old who wants to stop and play. I felt it was overload.

For Bali Zoo, it is mainly to experience Orangutans closely. Thinking of breakfast with Orangutans. My plan was to dedicate a day for Bali Zoo (including maybe breakfast with Orangutans) and then head over to the Bird Park. Another day would be staying at Mara River Safari Lodge (along with doing all POSSIBLE activities in a day)

Bali Safari park review after 2023. During the pandemic of 2020, there was a huge promo to visit the Bali Safari park. Don't confuse this one with the Bali Zoo, that's a totally different zoo. In October 2022, I visited again as a family trip, and it was a very different experience for both the audience and the staff.

Each will give you a different experience in that one is a Zoo & one is a Safari Park with animals from Asia & Africa in a free range setting. I visited Bali Zoo last year (Sept) for Breakfast with Orangutan (arrived 8am for 8.30am breakfast buffet) also two elephants & after breakfast had a good walk around the Zoo, sat to watch the Animal Presentation.

The Safari Park is certainly a lot glitzier. The Zoo may have seen better days but is still a good way to entertain the kids. The flying fox (ride, not animal) at the zoo was great fun. It involved some climbing, shreeks from mummy, and a long slide down the rope to the car park outside. Do it on the way out.

The safari park seems to be a lot more expensive - is it worth it?? Kids would like to get close to animals if possible.
